hiss and hum

hey, everyone- just got a nice ad15-12, and have a question- pardon my naivete, but i'm very new to tube amps-
when i turn the gain and master up (say, to 1 o'clock) i get a hiss 'n hum from the amp. is this normal, is it a faulty tube, cable, etc??

PS- are there documents, warranties, etc for these amps?? my dealer said he didnt get any from orange.

What sooner said about humbuckers vs single coils and electrical interferance from lights, video monitors, etc.

You could have a noisey tube though this usually shows up at almost any volume.

Is this occuring with the guitar plugged straight in or with an effects pedal? Could be effects noise.
