EL84 position?

Hi. I have had my AD30R for a couple of years now and have so far not needed to change anything with the amp!

I have a pair of Ruby Tubes EL84 (DSS-matched??) and was wondering if anyone knows how these will differ to the "Golden Dragon" tubes that came stock with the amp?

I know the obvious answer is " try it out" so my second question is what valve socket effects what part of the amp? If possible I would like to up my gain on the amp so if these Rubys can be used for this I would like your opinion.
