tc ad30 preamp valve location

I just bought two different pairs of NOS 12Ax7's, and placed them in diagonally, because they were closer together. I can definitely tell a difference between the two channels when i set the knobs identical. I've got Ei's in the power stage.

My question is which two preamps go with which channel? the sockets aren't labelled...I'd like to post reviews of the preamps I got.

i called orange here in the states (luckily they're in my city of atlanta!) and they didn't know but said you could do this:

1) pull one valve
2) power on the amp, and channel switch
3) whichever one is silent is the culprit, and whichever tube isn't glowing is your mate..

wouldn't think that would be good for the amp, but it came from the horse's mouth...cheers
