Just letting everyone know that I sold my Orange AD30TCH and have scraped up enough to purchase a Bad Cat class A amp. I got so tired of trying to use pedals with the Orange....trying to deal with the annoying "white noise" from the second channel....and general disatisfaction of owning such an expensive amp that was the noisiest piece of gear on the stage. I really tried though. I replaced tubes, etc....but after hearing the Bad Cat ( created by Mark Sampson who also created the Matchless amp) I'm buggin' out.
So, to all those wonderful guys out there who adore their Orange amps.....more power to ya. But to those who have yet to purchase an Orange, I implore you to try out some of the rich and toneful Class A amps that are being manufactured by Bad Cat amps, Dr. Z amps, Aiken amps, Carr amps, and so on.....go to their websites and listen to them. The tone those things produce will bring tears to your eyes. Sure, they're "boutique" amps, but - Hey! Aren't you really after the best tone? I'm sorry to say it isn't Orange.
All my best to you guys.

well, good luck. You're going to miss that second channel. An Orange isn't the amp to be putting a butt-load of pedals in front of anyway.... and neither is the Badcat actually. Talk about ruining the pure sound of an amp. Glad you're happy and moving on- me, I'm very happy with my four Oranges...

Not to mention that you could have bought two of the AD30TC's for the price of that Badcat...

I'm not saying that the Badcat is a bad amp- just a one-trick pony.

I run plenty of boss pedals with the orange even tho i may only use one at a time and it doesn't make any difference. just make sure all the leads are clean and all the bolts on the pedals are screwed in tight.

Hope you'll be happy with what you get.
It wouldn't be good if everybody used the same gear! Don't bandwagon.

hahahaahaha (evil laugh with head thrown backwards...) another one leaves the fold! The less people that own Oranges the better in my opinion...just makes mine even more exclusive!
Besides...who ever said it's only about the tone anyway??!! Most prople listen to rock and roll with their eyes as well as their ears! It's all about the vibe man! Orange amps look cool, they sound cool and they are cool!! It's not everyone that can stand on a stage with a bright orange amp behind them! I'll never forget the look on the singers face when I turned up to practice with my brand new AD30HTC and my 4x12AD cab, "wow!..theat sure is...er...Orange isn't it!!??" Aaaahhh, the inocense of non guitar players...ain't it beautiful....
You go play your Bad Cat...I hope you love it as much as I love my Orange!

I love all things orange and all orange things!

guitar players who spend $1,000+ on amps to sound better, not to look cooler.

Divided by 13 is another new amp company but all of these manufacturers are carving their niche with high-priced, low-wattage amps that usually only have a single channel. I don't know.... to me I'd rather have the versatility of two channels and a better price which are my Oranges. But first and foremost, I get the sound that I'm looking for out of them.

I am in the process of purchasing an ad30htc, i went out and played a ton of amps, and none of then had the same versatility or sound. I played matchless, bad cat, cornford, fender, vht, thd, holland, soldano, ect

None of them sounded near as good, and as mentioned earlier, they were single channel amps with very low wattage. My favorites besides the orange however, were the holland and cornford...

Like I said, don't get me wrong Matchless are very good amps- I played a used one at the local Guitar Center and it sounded really good- it was easy to dial in a good sound and get a usable tone out of it.... but it was also $3200 used. I can buy two AD30TC's for that...
