My AD140B Came Today!

I just got done taking it for an unfortunately quick test drive. I was pleasantly surprised by how loud it did get, and also by how warm and round it was. For whatever reason, I was expecting it to be really gritty, and a lot brighter than it is. The bad news though, is that I am almost certainly going to have to get a different bass, because its quite obvious that my ibanez roadstar with an emg in it is just not going to cut it...I think I need to get a jazz bass so it will cut through a little bit. Thanks for listening to me rant on about this, and an extra special thanks to our ex-village idiot for making it all happen.

It came totally nice...packed well. You did neglect to send a power cable, but I have more than enough of those, so, its actually probably better you didn't. That thing is a beauty, and its time to get a roadcase for her.

I bet that Roadstar would sound fine if you bypassed the inferior preamp they install in those. Most likely you can't even hear what the pickup actually sounds like.

I didn't think it had a preamp in it. I was under the impression that it was a passive emg. I might have to look into it.

Dude, don't worry about the power cable, I would rather you went and saw a good movie than paid to ship something I had more than enough of. That is unless of course its some kind of crazy orange custom shop ac cable that I have never heard anything about before. Ha.
