I don't know for sure as I've never heard talk about this topic. I'm sure it's been covered at some point. My guess is that it became less popular after the double channel version was released. It probably just wasn't in as much of demand as it was at one point.

Ditto. They did the same with the AD140. Perhaps the single channels initially went out to gauge market interest, and then the twin channels to further it, and for people who thought: "I love this sound, just wish it had 2 channels!"

True.
I do see the appeal of one channel, though my set up is such that I now use the two channels as separate single channels for different P/U configurations rather than as rythym/lead etc.

I actually really want a single channel version at the moment. I'm not really sure why since I already have the two channel version. It would make a wonderful backup, and I only use one channel most of the time to tell the truth. Plus it DOES have those big knobs;).

when i was testing orange amps, i wasnt as happy with the twin channel ad30 combo as i was with the ad30r. i really couldn't get the same tone/gain with either channel 1 or channel2 as i could with the single ad30r channel. it was like channel 1 didnt have enough gain and channel 2 had too much. of course, it is my personal opinion.

I'm getting an ac30 soon which I will only use one channel on. However I'll probably use overdrive pedals with it.
