Jazz on Orange Rocker

Post by stevemackenzie100 » Sat Aug 06, 2022 10:30 am

Hi, checking if anyone uses an Orange Rocker 15 or similar for jazz? Playing with a Gretsch hollow body and Jags and Jazzies. I'm struggling to get a good old school jazz tone (like Wes or Kenny B) from my OR15. I've tried both clean and dirty circuits without much success. Tried to reduce bass & treble while boosting mids on amp eq. Tried dialling down guitar volume and tone. It seems to still be too bright then changes suddenly to too dark with no middle ground. Any advice would be appreciated.

personally, id just get the amp to the point of breakup starting with your eq's at noon and then roll back the volume on your guitar to like 6 or 7 and then pull the tone back to taste. Then id go adjusting your eq but usually only slightly. probs a slight boost in mids and highs and a touch back on lows but its all personal taste.
