I laughed when I read this only because you have to be of a certain age to even know what a "carbon copy" is...

I'd say if it weren't for the orange amps forum I wouldn't know what a carbon copy is :p

Great pedal tho! No doubting that :D

Awesome! This thread has got my delay GAS going. Spent a lot of time humming and hawing over a tape delay type pedal. I do miss the Tape delay emulation the Strymon Timeline had. My DD-7 is great and after all the delays I’ve owned, it should be all I need. I keep telling myself that... telling myself that... telling myself that
Congrats on the G-system!

Billy, I may very well take you up on that.

It's going to be a huge step up compared to my regular stomp boxes. I really hope I can recreate shimmer reverb effects, looks like that should be possible.....

Do you know if it can be programmed externally? I.e. create an upload file with fx settings And import it into the G System via usb port?

There is software that allows you to connect a laptop to the G-System and edit patches. I have to say, the G-System is not super intuitive when it comes to adjusting settings. I bought a second one and kind of cloned my settings from my first one and imported them one at a time into the new one. I was hoping for a total dump but it didn't seem to be possible.

The software is called Vyzor G-System. Connects with a USB cable...

It sounds incredible! Very good fidelity and lots of features too! The “output” control acts as a boost too so if you turn the mix all the way down you get that. Possible to store 3 presets too! My first Empress pedal and I don’t know what took so long. They’re made only a few hours from me here in Canada. About time I support them! Definitely clearer than the DD-7 and the Line 6 DL-4 I have right now.

TC Flashback and Strymon DIG, both for ping-ponging delays between two OR15.

Funny how great gear always sounds better when you realise it's made close by!!!!

The Empress gear looks top notch too. Glad you're enjoying it!!!!

The G System has been a steep learning curve..... it took around 10h of disappointment for me to realise I hadn't engaged the preamp section of my amp.....

No wonder it sounded bland and a bit lifeless.....

Once I got that sorted though, it's been reasonably plain sailing.
I've got a few patches set up..... and it actually is a revelation.

Since you can program relays to step in for footswitches, I can go from clean + reverb + delay to dirty + boost in one single tap...

So easy!!!!! It really is a great solution.
I've got to dig some more into it, but it's pretty amazing.
