Which orange is it.....

Hi

I want to buy an Orange Overdrive for 750€, so i checked the unoffical webpage of Orange (thanx geert), but i didnt find the model....The salesman told me it was build in 1996 or 1997, but the overdrive i found was ''late 1970's'', so its an reissue, but all amps from 1996 where labeled with OTR120, not with Overdrive like this one...,it has 120Watt,switchable impendance (4,8,16 Ohm),2 speaker out, NO STANDBY. So iam not sure which series it is, is it an OTR120 with a diffrent name? Or is it something diffrent then an OTR120.....

This question will not change by mind, i will buy it, because it sounds great.. smile

It's possible that there were Overdrive Reissues in the 90's before they went to the OTR name.
Maybe the people at Matamp (http://www.matamp.co.uk) can give you more info. I believe they made some of the reissues in early/mid 90s.

No Standby switch
Impendance selector (4,8,16 OHM) 2 Speaker out one Slave out...
2 ECC83 and 4 El34 (Electro Harmonics)
factory new condition.....
Routing looks like the or120 (1972version) of your techdrawings.....
Sticker on the back....Seal of Approval Export...nothing special....
SOUND: WOW , what is good enough for Led Zepplin,Free, is good enogh for me.........(COOL SOUND I LOVE IT...)

There were no "reissues" just issues!
ORANGE was ORANGE Matamp from 1969-1974 then slowly became
ORANGE Voice of The World.

ORANGE was a little recording shop in London.
[At the time the beatles were big with "Apple" Records]
So ORANGE was just a coy way of having another fruit related
studio. ORANGE Recording approached MAT Mathias to cover the black MATAMP gear in Orange with the word Orange on it custom made for the studio.

GREEN Matamp is a tribute to PETER GREEN because he used MATAMP products. BLUE Matamp was created for THE BLUEMAN GROUP in the USA.
RED Matamp was created for all of our Iron Maiden Metal Maniacs in
Germany, BLACK Matamp was made for all of the folks that can't stomach the bright colors on stage, and to debut the new format
of MATAMP. WHITE Matamp is just a heavenly request and the obvious
next amp.

ORANGE amps were made as needed in the factory at MATAMP. In and out of production of ORANGE over the years, MATAMP continued to make a variety of products from 1958 to current. Components changed over the years because of supply availability. Over the years companies that make electronic components go out of biz, leaving no other choice as a manufacturer to seek new components to do the same or similar function.

MATAMP has made many British amp lines under license in their factory
for "other" companies.

That is why they are known as the oldest custom shop in the UK.
