Picked this up today. Marshall 1965A 4x10. Been looking for a decent 2x12 for a while and came across it in the locals. Just had to have it. Has original Celestion G10L-35's in it date stamped November of 1989. I think it looks pretty good with the Rocker!

I think I did ok on the price, wouldn’t say amazing deal, about $300 US. Sounds pretty good, but I haven’t had a chance to crank it. Was looking around the speakers and theres some solder joints I’d like to re-work before I go to town on it. Could use a scrub on the Tolex too! Just the size of cab I was looking for. Was checking out those new vertical 2x12, but they just look off to me. I don’t mind 10” speakers either. One of the best sounding cabs I owned was a 2x10. I may change out the speakers for the type I had in that 2x10, celestion greenback and vintage.

I couldn't find the cab in the Vintage Guitar Price Guide but I think $300 is a pretty good price. Reverb has them from $450 upward...

Update: As mentioned I wanted to re-work some solder joints before really playing it, I found the speaker that had the bad solder joints is actually fried! Who knows how long its been like that, they didn’t look pretty (no pics sorry). Anyways I put two 10” Eminence Ceramic magnet Red Fangs in today. I love my 12” Red Fang Alnico so much I thought I give these a whirl. Cab sounds really good, a nice focused mid range “woody” sound to it, no shrillness on the top end and a tight bottom end. The speakers still have some breaking in to do obviously, but I’m kind of reminded of the Greenback sound, quite different than the 12” Red Fang Alnico, no surprise really. But still a nice tone. Quite a differently built speaker than the celestion G10L-35. Red Fangs on left in images.

Some may say that an Orange/Marshall stackette is a bit of an unholy alliance, but I like it!

Maybe. I don’t think so. I’m actually not big on Orange cabs. I think they’re great quality, and love the look, but a bit dark sounding for my liking.

I used to really like the sound of my OR80 Overdrive head through a Marshall 1936 2X12 cab.

Looks really neat!!!

The cab size is perfect for the head too!!
10" speakers have great qualities too. But it sounds ace! Is it 16ohms?

Bet it would sound great too with a PPC212!

Yeah it might look good with a ppc212. I had started building a new cab this past summer but had to put it on hold. I sild my other homemade Port City oversized clone a while back and then wished I didn’t. Due to not having time to work on the current one, I just decided to look for a decent used cab to hold me over. Might have to re-work the sides on the project cab to match this 4x10 now.

Niiiiiiiiice.

Wish I could find one of those.

Those speakers rated at 50w a piece? I've been considering getting some secondary open-back cab, like a 2x10 or 2x12 for home recording where I put one mic in front and one INSIDE the back of the cab. Never tried it before, but it's an idea I've had for a long time. Also saw something on youtube a couple years ago about how apparently I wasn't the first person to have that idea because it's how Jerry Cantrell typically recorded with Alice in Chains. He sounded pretty good usually.

I occasionally see the Orange PPC410 for stupid money, and really am quite tempted (beside the fact I have NO need for it.....), but I like the G10N40 for cleans, they are superb for cleans.... i love V30s. I bet these 2 cabs together would totally rock (if the Db mismatch isn't too bad.....)
