Hows it going Orange heads! Is this thing closed or over or what? Im sad to see its gonna be gone but maybe this post might just sneak in?!

In any case, its taken me a long time to get to this but finally I have an AD30 combo and I have to say, its a class piece of kit. Its just so classic! still getting used to it but after having a bunch of other orange amps its pretty cool to finally have an AD30.

I did have to say goodbye to a Tiny Terror and a Fender Bassbreaker 15 to get my hands on it but I think the trade off was well worth it.

Ive it paired with a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe in a Wet Dry setup, it sounds HUGE.

Hoping to get recording in the next two months so if the forum is still going ill post a couple of sounds

Looks good! Since I got my AD30TC combo I stopped looking for another amp. Which was totally unlike me but now it's been like 26 years I think!

Two things I did to mine:

1. swapped out the knobs for large on each end and smaller in the middle - similar design to original Oranges


2. I took a Sharpie and wrote on the back panel over the footswitch and outputs what they are...

I'll definitely do the sharpie mod! And I might see if I can get some new top hat knobs off ebay..

The amp is pure class. I might see if I can find an old silver face bassman to use with it. The Hot Rod is fine but it definitely had spiky highs that are hard to manage.

You run 2 AD30s don't you Billy?

I'm seeing a Hudson Broadcast there. They are fantastic, yeah? (I have two slightly different versions, sometimes one just isn't enough. Also their superb Sidecar.)

The broadcast is something else altogether. I nearly have it on all the time just for a bit of an edge. I think the Fender needs it but now maybe the orange doesn't... Still finding that sweet spot for the Ad30. I had looked at the sidecar.... Its kinda in the tubeacremer world isn't it? But like the broadcast, a whole lot more too?
