I think the potential for it to go wrong for some people is why I say no to it. If you have the where-with-all and understanding, then yeah go for it...Gorgar wrote: ↑Wed Dec 25, 2019 10:35 pmWait, why not? I've been doing this for years. My two Thunderverbs into the big heavy duty Orange 4x12, and any number of Marshalls, Laneys and Engls into an Engl 4x12. Haven't had a problem. Am I asking for trouble?
Sorry to see the forum go. It's been a great resource. I do not like Facebook.

Re: ALL GOOD THINGS....
Wow! Sad news. I guess times do change.
Thank you, Billy for ALL of the hard work you put into this place. I’m going to miss checking in a few times each year to see what’s new. At least I’ll always have my RV50 to remind me of this place.
Thank you!

Joined this forum in March 2006. Would have been 16 at the time. 14 years later and i still have the orange AD140, but play guitar a lot less, got a little family, life is a little different. Thanks for maintaining the site over the years, i definitely was a regular back in the day. Been eyeing off a tiny terror as a return to playing electric guitar, hence why i logged back on here. Cheers
Re: ALL GOOD THINGS....
Just to add my thx Billy for all your hard work..
Life has certainly got in the way recently for me.. sold my house and my boat and moved into a condo.. and have needed to reset myself in more ways than one..and music took a back seat for quite a while..
though not the most active forum, this was indeed one of the more pleasant places to hang out, and was certainly hoping sometime at least to find the opportunity to come up to MA to checkout your band..
OTOH.. mebbe i wont miss this place at all..it has cost me a fortune...

Just bought a Fender Baritone telecaster neck and put it on a loaded lefty Tele body. Sounds amazing. Tuned A-A, 72-13 strings.

Well, I guess it was just not the age of the forum any more then. I did learn a hell of a lot of things from the guys back in the day, and I’ll always be thankful for that! Still have the t-shirt Adam sent me when I had posted 1000 posts! Great work with the forum, Billy!

Never say die! The old ways are still the best ways! MAAAATLOCK!
I refuse to join the social media cult. I don't wanna get political, but I believe a lot of the "issues" and "problems" people perceive about the world these days are exacerbated by an over-valued sense of faith in what happens on social media. It (whatever IT is at the time) isn't as important as people make it. Because when you turn the computer and walk out of your front door, THAT'S where things really matter - the world YOU live in.
I'm here til the wheels fall off.

Re: ALL GOOD THINGS....
Social media is a double-edged sword. It's become the only way to let people know about gigs and events; and yet, like you said, it's just created a political world of its own with misinformation and sheep willing to repost anything even when it sounds implausible. I've been thinning my herd of friends... and as long as this is still here, I'll post from time to time.groundmeat wrote: ↑Sun Jul 19, 2020 7:18 amNever say die! The old ways are still the best ways! It seems we’re still going. Maybe Orange turned off the power but left the standby on so we’re still getting a few sputtering notes out of the old server?
