Orange Or50 For higher gain?

So I’ve had my Or50 for about a year now and I love it but I’m trying to achieve the tones that premier guitar and Orange’s YouTube demos sound like. I can achieve those tones but only with boosts or tube screamer type pedals? Any advice on getting those tones especially on Orange’s demo? Settings? Tube swaps? Btw I’m running it though a 4x12 cab with Eminence Governors as well so they’re similar to v30s

Thanks

Not knowing what you manage to get.... im gonna guess the reviews probably are recorded at high volume, benefiting from power amp overdrive on top of the preamp gain.

Difficult to reproduce without proper volume.

But..... what's wrong if you can achieve it with a boost, OD or TS? The destination is what matters?

High volume for definite and probably humbucker pickups!

A factor might be the valves if they are well worn.

What has been already said. Volume. And more volume. I have three heads - TT, RV MK1 50w and R30, each of them gets really heavy with reasonably overdriven power amp. I'd say 11 o'clock on dirty channel is where magic starts to happen.

I'm actually using Seymour Duncan Black Winters, but I'm gonna try raising the volume and might swap out the power tubes down the line to if that works.

Swapping power tubes may not achieve a gainier tone.... EL34 have a pretty standard way of breaking up.

You may wish to try a RFT ECC83 in V1, as those preamp valves do break up earlier and harder than other preamp valves, but finding some on the NOS market can be tricky.

I've got one in the gain channel of my R30, it's a great match for that amp, and I'm sure would be a great match for the OR50 too.

Thanks... I might just do that
