You can get a R30 in the $700's. Not sure what the MKI's cost. However, the Rocker 30 has a far superior OD for punk. It's much less compressed and cuts better. It reminds me of a hot rodded JCM 800. Plenty of gain on tap too. I never jived with the MKI's as I felt like their tone just lacked character.
Depending on what guitar you are playing, the R30 natural channel is passable. It sounds like ass through humbuckers, but it was decent with my tele and JM. But since you play 90% OD, it might not really matter.
