Thinking of buying a Dallas rangemaster clone pedal from the US, not sure how well it would integrate with my rocker terror 15 head. I have a Naga viper which is sensational with it, but the lure of the Germanium pedal is tempting me for when I play Rory Gallagher material. Anyone tried a Germanium pedal with an orange amp ?

I have a Java Boost , a germanium pedal, I run with my OR50.
With the amp set at edge of distortion or a little higher it is a great sound . Not my go to boost pedal but good for a very specific sound. Not good at describing sounds but kind of old school in my mind. I use it on Zep and some Clapton songs. I’ve heard they are good before a boost or overdrive pedal but never tried it myself. Four times a night is about all I use it, but it’s what I want for those four songs.

Eddie do you find the Germanium pedal is fussy about placement and usage alongside other pedals ?

I have it early in the chain. Must have read somewhere that’s where to put it and haven’t tried it anywhere else.

Most of the dirt pedals I use are germanium. Has worked fine with my OR-120 and Thunderverbs. In general they stack well, and the only one that needs to be at the front is an Analogman Sunlion, because of the fuzz face half wanting to be before any buffered pedals. I do tend to like them before other dirt, but in my Laney rig I run the Iommi boost last, and that works too.

So I went ahead and ordered a rangemaster clone, can't wait to get it, I'm wondering if germanium is the last piece of the Rory tone jigsaw.If not my Naga viper does a cracking job
