Stack 2x12 with Angled 4x12

Post by oliverkult » Sun Dec 02, 2018 7:32 pm

Hi guys,

I own a OR15 and a open back 212 cab.
I want to stack it for better stage presence and overall sound.

Can i stack the 2x12 on top of a angled 4x12 ?

I wanted initially to stack the 4x12 on top of the 2x12 like ove seen on pictures but the dimensions wont work

Let me know !

Regardless of dimensions (Will the OB212 fit on top of the angled 412), you n3ed to be aware that each cab will see the same power.

Since you have a 15w head, say 15w/2 = 7.5w/cab. (Nevermind the max power power of the OR15 when fully cranked, which might be near 25w - then use 25w as starting point).
Each cab will divide the 7.5w equally between its speakers. 3.75w/speaker in the OB212, 1.875w/speaker in the 412 cab. Essentially, the OB212 will be MUCH louder, and at ear level will be probably all you can hear.

It doesn't mean that further away the 412 won't add nicely to the mix, but that's something to bear in mind.

I would either simply play through the 412, and keep the 212 for smaller occasions, or get another PPC212 instead.

All good options though.
