No, I meant something wrong with memoryloss TH30. I am saying that mine is loud and not muddy (as per MemoryLoss oginal post).
Aaargh! Light dawns over Marblehead! That's not the one on the coast of Massachusetts USA, either.

Thanks for the awesome replies, guys.

I do think I need to upgrade the amp as the RV50/100s look very tempting. I already checked with the store I bought it from and they offered a somewhat insulting part-ex price for the TH30. I expected as much!!

If I did want to swap out the valves, does anyone have any recommendations? Are there other mods you'd recommend to the amp to get less fizz, more volume and more definition in the tone?
My two cents:

Been there, done that.
I had TH30 for almost a year, because at that time I wanted Orange amp so bad, yet I couldn't afford to buy Rockerverb which is for me kind of Orange real-thing. Sadly, although I tried very hard, I just couldn't like it. Volume difference between channels, very limiting shape knob (worked for me ONLY at 11 o'clock), fizzy gain, thin sounding. And yes, I've changed tubes, tried various boosts and EQs. Sold it, got Rockerverb MK1 50w and never looked back.

Rockerverb is really hell of an amp.

Yeah, that does not seem possible with a working TH30.

I played with a guy who had that line6, I don’t know if it so loud but it has a very piercing sound. Ice pick sound straight to the scull. It cut through everything. Playing with him was the only time I ever walked over to another guys amp and turned it down during a gig.
Never played a TH30 but I would take on over a line6 anytime.

I don't know what kind of music you play, but my experience has been quite the opposite. I'm glad you are enjoying your RV.

His may be too late to be any help but I had a Marshall 412 at one point with my orange AD30 and hated the g12 speakers as they seemed to cut out all the best parts. Much preferred g12h30s and vintage 30s. Have you tried it with different speakers?

Sell it and get a 50 watt.

If 30W isn't enough for you then 50 won't be enough. There will be a difference but it won't be big enough and you might not even notice it.

If 30 isn't enough go 100. You said you owned one already but 50 isn't gonna make things much better.

However, the TH30 I owned was damned loud, I never had issues playing unmic'ed gigs in smaller venues with a very loud drummer and another guitar player. You may want to make sure everything's fine before you ditch it.
