What does the Or15 offer over the Terror 15?

Im looking at picking one of these up this week...fortunately Ill be able to try both at my local Orange dealer...

But I do wonder if the Terror 15 has made the Or15 a bit pointless? another channel, headroom setting ...

It there a difference in tone on the overdrive channels ? .any difference in gain, dynamics or something else..the Or is the cooler looking imho and its called an OR but after that does if offer anything the terror 15 does not?

I'm assuming you're meaning the Rocker Terror? They have different gain stages, 3 on the Rocker, 4 on the OR15. The OR15 is closer to a Rockerverb preamp. Matter of taste I guess.

I have an OR15 and have been wondering this myself. I do love the little thing though but the 3 gain stages, 2 channels and bedroom option of the Rocker 15 Terror are tempting me.

Let us know what you think after playing both.

Personally, the R15 terror would tempt me more.

3 gain stages is plenty enough for me. Clean channel is a great bonus.

Let us know what you think Ronnie, I'll look forward to your comparison with your experience of Orange amps.

The OR15 is a one channel amp that you control with the guitar volume. The Rocker 15 is a 2 channel combo. You can't go wrong with either one, IMHO, it just depends on what your needs are.

My conclusion is both very good, although R15 is much more versatile (totally understandable!) and I thought very impressive for the money.... . But offers nothing over what I have already to justify the extra expense!.....

i really want a or15. i also really want a jim root terror. but if you can modify the or15 to have the jim root tone stack i think i would want that more. i remember seeing that somewhere sometime but i can't remember for sure where. i'd love to know how to do the mod.

I personally found the Rocker 15 Terror to be lacking in gain in comparison to the OR15. Though the natural channel is pretty sweet, and over all it makes a good pedal platform (if you are big on them). If you just want to plug like in and stick to the controls on the guitar, you might prefer the OR15.

+1; exactly this.
I don't need alot of gain and I use many effects, so I prefer the Rocker, but for someone who need a plug and play amp and bold gain, the Or15 is a great head.

Knowing the amps you have, I'm not surprised you came back home empty ended.

At times, it's good to check the grass elsewhere, to realise your own grass is just the right shade of green already.

The Rocker 15 as is the Brent Hinds are not considered high gain amps. The OR15 is however high gain and its voiced similar to the Jim Root Terror which is also a high gain as also is the Dark Terror. But the Rocker 15 and BH have 2 channels, with the "Natural" clean channel (No EQ) and has 4 attenuation options; 15, 7, 1, ,5 rather than all the others just have 7W & 15W.

True... I feel like I've got it out of my system now....

Good feeling, isn't it?

I feel I'm at a very similar point in terms of guitars and amps. I look at stuff and wonder what they would offer that i havent got covered already..... and in guitars and amps, the answer is nothing these days.

It's lovely - I've got all my bases covered.
