Read in yt comments that it has less fizz now. Intriguing. Have you tried higher quality tubes also?

Took a good amp to a great amp imo, it just sounds and feels like a much higher end amp. The transformers made the amp more touch sensitive, smoother sounding and definitely reduced the fizz...the tranny upgrade combined with the depth mod has this little beast sounding f'n massive. I'm glad I took the plunge and had the work done, its a keeper for life.

I did have a set of Gold Lions in it before the mods, they sounded good, reduced the gain quite a bit. But after the transformer swap I felt the stock JJ's sounded better, so thats what I'm currently running.

Solid state amps don't have (don't need) output transformers. I wouldn't bother swapping the power tranny.
