Hi there Orange nuts,
I own a PPC212OB and I was thinking about getting another one to stack it on top so it sounds like a PPC412. The PPC412 it’s out of my budget, but I want to have 4 speakers at a similar height than a PPC412. I have enough money to get another PPC212OB. Also, for the style I play, an OB cabinet works better for me.
Should I get another PPC212 to stack it on top of my PPC212, or I will be better off if I save some money to go for the PPC412?
Also, I was thinking maybe getting a PPC212 closed back for placing it as the lower cabinet of the 2XPPC212 to get some tight bass response, but I’m not sure if it’ll ruin the vintage tone I’m looking for.
Many thanks!

Re: Stacking 2 PPC212 vs 1 PPC412
Several options all with different end results.
The 412 is a closed back so you are going to get quite a bit different tone between that and 2 212ob.
212CB is quite similar to the 412. It has a bit tighter sound to my ear but live, it’s going to give you similar results.
I had 2 412’s for a while and loved the sound so much. However, moving them is tough. I now have some 212ob’s and a 212CB. Much easier to maneuver.
None of the choices will give you a bad sound, just different.

2 2X12 may be easier to carry, and more flexible, regarding the stage configuration you have.
