Orange Amps Forum

I'd like to take a poll on what you would buy if you had a 1000 dollars to buy either a 2 speaker cabinet or a 4 speaker cabinet for an OR 15 head unit. I don't want an orange colored one though since I want it to match the decor in my room so it needs to be of a dark color. Please only one selection.

Easy a 2x12 vertical cab...I got mine from Zilla cabs in the uk, it can be closed back or open back, which is a good option to consider and I got mine with one V30 and one G12H sounds mint AND portable.

I'll second that. I don't have a Zilla cab but I've seen a few and they are well made. I'd also recommend 2 x 12 rather than 4 x 12 for a 15W amp. I found the sound pressure was less than ideal when I tried my OR15 through a 4 x 12.

Of course, Orange do build with black tolex too...

I'd vote for an Orange 2x12 OB cabinet. Orange used to make a black Tolex OR15; is it still
in production?

If I had $1K to play with I'd get the 4X12.

But what about two 2X12's?

I've got the Orange black PPC212- really great cab. Sounds fantastic.

IMO anything bigger than a 2x12 is silly for home use. Check out the PPC212OB in Black. It’s a nice sounding cabinet.

Not that I know of mine is orange, it's just that my music room is also my wife's office space and she wants it to match the sofa and furniture more than the bright orange color

Any 2x12 or 4x12 with Celestion Vintage 30s (my Marshall & Blackstar custom cabs) or 70th Anniversary (my EVH 5150 III cab). These are the speaker types I mainly have in my cabs and sound perfect with any of my four Terror amps! I also have an Ibanez TSA112C with a Celestion Seventy80 in it which sounds surprisingly good.

I have a 4x10 Orange cab. I know they are not very popular, but I really like it with my Tiny Terror. Surprisingly, I found they less bright then Orange with Vintage 30 cabs. More low mids, less high mids. I am sure it also sound great with a OR15. They are not made anywmore though, so they are hard to find.

CRPRO412 $600 new, around $450 used when I see them on CL or wherever. I have one in orange and it's a great cab. I love the way the VOTW speakers have broken in.

I just played an OR15 through 2014 PPC412 at a Sam Ash recently and holy hell... I can't believe how much ass that little head kicked through those 4 speakers. And even at really low volumes as well. But cranking the volume and the gain was awesome too.
