PPC212 pricing

Does anyone understand why the PPC212V is $50 more than the regular PPC212 and $180 more than the PPC212OB? It has smaller birch ply, it's open back, and has the g12 neodymium creambacks instead of the V30s. I understand the speakers are a bit more expensive, but is that the sole reason? I feel like I'm missing something.
