RV clean channel not working?

Post by afjungemann » Tue Jun 12, 2018 3:43 am

I am borrowing a friends RV mkIII combo and the dirty channel works decent but when I flip to the clean channel, it just hums, no guitar tone comes out. Any ideas?

I would guess the pre amp tubes on the clean side.

I replaced the clean preamp tube and it didn’t fix it.

Could be switch, relay, loose contact, damaged component..... tech time really.

What Ant said, but also how is the voltage out of the wall? Sometimes in a low voltage situation, channel switching will stop leaving only the second channel. Also makes me suspect the relay....
