NGDs

Post by bfitz » Sun Jun 10, 2018 2:05 pm

Well folks!

Ive gone and done it, GAS had the better of the the last six months and i came out with two deals that were well timed and very reasonably priced.

After graduating i found a Fender '57 reissue CIJ strat 1997 for €600 on one of the local craigslist type things

Needed a setup and new strings but its a player and sounds great! Although I'd say ill be getting the extra spring installed, the floating bridge is fun to play with but I just prefer the bridge to be flush with the body of the guitar.

Then the second one is a bit of a rare thing according to the research ive done on it but its a gem. It's definitely pushing for the number 1 spot that is currently occupied by the telecaster.

1984 Yamaha SA1200s. I got it for a grand but considering how nice a guitar it is I think its a steal. Apparently only 800 were made. It has a solid spruce top, mahogany body and neck, and an ebony finger board. I have played some 335's in my time and they are really nice but the ones that i like were always mad expensive. This thing is a most excellent compromise. I think its as good as the gibson. I really cant put it down.

Both sound great through the R30 and the TT. I've recently started using an OCD with the R30 as well just for more options. Im feeling inspired and music is just coming out of me at the moment. Learning songs and writing music. The GAS sometimes has positive side affects

That pink paisley Telecaster has James Burton “written” all over it! He became a very wealthy guy
with what go could do with it.

Congratulations. Back in the 80s Yamaha produced some seriously good quality guitars. I'm not sure what happened to them but they seemed to abandon the western market other than dirt cheap Pacificas.

They still do some high quality guitars, even within the Pacifica range.

I really dig their new revstar range......

Cheers Billy! Apologies about Dublin I was looking forward to coming up and meeting you guys but life got in the way I'm afraid! I trust you two had a good time?

The Paisley is just a great player and I always come back to it and it just fits! You can't beat a good telecaster!

Dublin snow! It took us by surprise... we just kinda hung out in Dublin for the most part and only got out of the city once until.... our flight out got canceled so we had to drive to Shannon to get a flight the next day! Had a great time at Bunratty Castle and Durty Nellie's next door.
