Just wanted to stop by and say hello. I'm Casey and I'm an Orange fan in the Atlanta area. I have recently picked up a bunch of new gear in an effort to mix things up and to force myself to try new things.

I've been playing since I was 9, so I'm about to hit 26 years of playing. I've always been a huge Fender player (started with Strats and moved over to Teles and offsets). I've had just about every brand of guitar over the years and finally settled on a few US made PRSi to keep me happy ( one 305 Strat killer, and another CE24).

Amp wise I've always preferred Fender cleans, but have had a bunch of Mesa Boogies over the years. I recently parted with my Boogies, added an ENGL but it never really pleased me fully. I found a deal (steal) on a TH30C combo the other day and grabbed it. I'm in love. That crunch!!!

Anyways, I'm planning to keep this one with my only plans being to add a '65 Princeton Reverb to go along with it. I will be on the hunt for a new Tele as well.

I'm still figuring out some settings and dialing in tones, but so far it has been pretty easy to get nice tones out of it. I've noticed some hum with the amp, but to be honest it's not a concern. The PRS 305 is a little noisy no matter what, so I'll be hunting for a pedal to help reduce that.

Sorry to ramble on :D

Congrats on the purchase. I have only played a TH30 in store once but I remember being rather impressed.

Also welcome to the forums :D

Welcome aboard!!!!

The TH30 packs some serious tone.

The clean channel is beautiful too. The bass and treble controls interact with the mids. Increase them, you lower the mids, decrease them, you increase the mids.

Super easy to use.

Congratulations. I bought my TH30 very soon after they came out and it's still getting better all the time. It's a very well thought out amp, IMHO, and incredibly versatile. I will never part with it.

I poked around on the forum yesterday and was able to find some great info on this as well. Very different from the tone controls I'm used to, but very easy to adapt to IMHO. Very, very happy with the tones each channel provides, and with less knobs to worry about!!!

I am noticing some hum when the amp is on (not in standby mode), but I am running a cheap 1-Spot power supply for a few pedals so I need to test things out later with no pedals connected to see if I need to pick up a quality power source next.

I have to admit, I was never a fan of most British voiced amps over the years. That was definitely my mistake. I'm getting beautiful cleans from this, and to be honest I might've just become a Orange convert with this dirty channel. I will still lust after a few Boogies, but after having them for years I might just need to take a break form them for a while. The only Boogie combo I need is the Royal Atlantic 212 (as my last one had a major issue causing it to be returned).

Thanks for having me here! I'll be digging around for more great info (and lust worthy pics)!

Heck, I'm a Boogie guy (have 2) but my new Orange Rocker 15 combo is a great little grab-n-go amp. So you can truly be both - a Boogie AND an Orange fan!!

Congrats!

I have the head version and love it.

The secret weapon of this amp definitely is the clean channel. It has a lovely overdrive sound to it when you turn up the volume.
But be careful it gets pretty loud even on 7watts.

It really does! I was able to crank it for a sec at home, but that won't be happening often. Opted to just run a Boss SD-1 when I need that from the clean channel.

Welcome to the board and congrats on your entry into the World Of Orange!

I'm up in Lawrenceville. I've owned many different amps over the years and have settled on a Rocker 15 combo.

Enjoy your TH30!

Hey neighbor!

Yeah, I just recorded some stuff tonight using it and was really happy with the clarity of chords and how articulate the clean channel was sounding. Can still get my scooped mids chug-a-lug on so it’s working out well.

Eyeballing a 212 cab for it...
