AC/DC and a strat with a Rocker
It feels so wrong, but sounds so right. As an AC/DC fan, theres nothing better than a Gretsch or SG through a vintage Marshall, but I love my Rocker and Orange does AC/DC really well. Maybe its the Seymour Duncan Twang Banger single coil I have in my strats bridge position, but that combined with my Rocker on a crunch setting sounds closer to a vintage AC/DC sound than any guitar I’ve played for that sound before. By vintage I mean the Bon Scott years.

Cool.... It's a brilliant Amp!
I'll have to try some. I particularly enjoy playing Ocean Colour Scene / Black Keys stuff with mind...

I'm not entirely surprised.
The R30 sounds really thick, so a thinner treblier sounding pick up sound like a good way to get there.

Dark amp and bright guitar, they're a good match! Same thing, I recently got a Fender Texas Special neck pickup for my Strat, sounds screechy and horrible through my Marshall but perfect through my Orange, go figure! I do my ACDC with my SG and Marshall though yes yes yes.Jondog wrote: ↑Wed May 09, 2018 11:47 pmIt feels so wrong, but sounds so right. I read somewhere that malcolm used fenders (telecaster, i think) on lots of his 70s studio stuff, even though he and angus didn’t play those live. Who knows if it’s true or not, but you can definitely rock ac/dc with a tele or a strat.

sounds cool how do you set your amp up for that plexi sound cant seem to dial mine in just right
Re: AC/DC and a strat with a Rocker
On the Rocker, gain about 1:00, bass around 2:00, mids up full, not sure where treble is, I just dial it in where theres no harshness, might even be up full. Volume, it has to be loud. A good speaker and wear a tie.
