Summer NAMM?
NAMM has passed and now Musikmese is about over as well and still nothing from Orange on any 50th anniversary amps as we move into summer...Have they ever announced anything major at Summer NAMM? Thats the last shot for all of us hoping for some 50th anniversary releases/re-releases
Re: Summer NAMM?
Nah I'm with you now, it looks like they missed the boat for big amps this year.
I'm never getting rid of my AD200 but reckon my next stop will be a Mesa 400+ or Strategy Eight:88.
Possibly even check out the new Hiwatt amps.

Re: Summer NAMM?
He probably meant those 15 watt amps they just released haha. Besides, why on earth would you wait so long into the year when everyone else has either released or announced their new amps? Most people looking to buy a new amp this year have already bought or at least pre-ordered one. I got tired of sitting around hoping Orange MIGHT release something.Ronnie Robinson wrote: ↑Sat Apr 14, 2018 6:50 pmBilly definately said something good was coming.....

That said, the real anniversary is later this year.

Re: Summer NAMM?
I just don’t follow this... is there some unspoken rule that people only buy amps at the beginning of the year? Do people not buy amps in the summer? Or the fall? People have been waiting until the beginning months of 2018 to buy amps and surely no one will be left to sell amps to later in the year.Dexter211275 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 14, 2018 9:25 pmHe probably meant those 15 watt amps they just released haha. You might want to try standing up or lying down instead?
You've got a weird fixation.
What does it really matter?
There are lots if amps on the market, just play what you like. Even if Orange did release a new big watt amp, there's no guaranty it would be to your taste.
Stop stressing about nothing and go enjoy yourself.
Life is to short to get hung up on that.
On these words, I'm now going to contemplate my collection of EL84 valves.

Re: Summer NAMM?
Not to be rude but are you new to all this? How its worked pretty much every year forever now is most every major company announces and shows off their major products like new amps and guitars for the year at the NAMM show in Anaheim every January. Then those products are typically released in the first quarter of the year, right around tax time when many people have returns and money to burn. Sometimes they get pushed back till summer or some companies say TBA on a release date but its always announced and shown off at NAMM. All the press is there to cover it and talk about it for months before the release. Smaller releases like acoustic guitars, pedals and more misc. stuff is usually done at Musikmesse in Germany every April. No company just announces a major release in the middle of the year aside from very few times at Summer NAMM which is the last small glimmer of hope.afjungemann wrote: ↑Sat Apr 14, 2018 10:03 pmI just don’t follow this... is there some unspoken rule that people only buy amps at the beginning of the year? Fender unveiled an amp beginning of May last year, vox announced an amp in September of last year. Nace Amps announced an amp in October 2015.
I totally understand that you are anxious to see what orange has up it’s sleeves or if there is anything at all. I share in that as well not because I am in the market but because I just like seeing what they do.
Time will tell.

You are talking about cheap digital modeling amps, hardly major releases.afjungemann wrote: ↑Sat Apr 14, 2018 11:31 pmFender unveiled an amp beginning of May last year, vox announced an amp in September of last year. Nace Amps announced an amp in October 2015.

Never seen that gif before! ha ha ha
I don't remember if Orange goes to Summer NAMM - it's not as big as Winter NAMM, right?

Re: Summer NAMM?
I've always wanted to go to Nashville, though. Having said that, I checked my calendar and I have a gig that weekend so.... no.
