Rocker 15 and Rocker 15 terror are (confusingly) 2 different amps.

I stand correct then, apologies for the inaccuracy. I played the head and didn't think it sounded like the combo I had checked out previously. I suppose that 10" speaker makes a big difference up against a 12".

I didn’t like the combo when I played it. Haven’t tried the head, but demos I’ve heard sound great. Speakers must make all tbe difference.fiveightandten wrote: ↑Sun Apr 15, 2018 10:45 pmI stand correct then, apologies for the inaccuracy. Re: Anyone owning or gigging the rocker terror 15 yet???
Agreed. I thought the combo was kind of flat and fizzy, and lacked fullness. The head has plenty of low end and seemed warmer and less buzzy. Due to the naming and the sound, it never even occurred to me that they're the same amp. Orange has too many 15Wers to keep track of these days.Jondog wrote: ↑Mon Apr 16, 2018 12:39 amI didn’t like the combo when I played it. Haven’t tried the head, but demos I’ve heard sound great. i play and gig with my rocker 15 combo weekly. rock/alternative and the sort.
really happy with it. i bought a Celestion 10 30 to replace the VOTW and ended up returning it. no worthwhile difference

You can run the gain control maxxed out on the rocker terror 15 head and there is none of the fizz so many orange amps are known for when used this way. If you like playing music like mountain or zz top then the amp is outstanding, wanna do something more metal , a maxon od808 set to boost out front and its job done.

What sorta music you playing on it ?
When I play stuff like nantucket sleighride by mountain the lower mids which the amp has just provides the perfect fat tone, for stuff like gary moore out in the fields, kicking on the maxon od808 brings the tone into 1980s hard rock territory. You are right, it is a sick amp and bloody loud for a 15 watter, im thinking of buying an attenuator.

Re: Anyone owning or gigging the rocker terror 15 yet???
I play it mostly on 0.5 or 1 Watt using the bedroom switch (I believe this is a built-in attenuator?), and use it for classic rock type stuff. Guns N' Roses, Aerosmith, Humble Pie songs all work very well on it. I use it for all kinds of other stuff too, like Led Zeppelin, RHCP, Fleetwood Mac, and just jamming. Imho, it sounds killer for any of these types of music!
I am currently without a band so don't have much opportunity to rock it with a drummer at 15 watts, but I am looking forward to the day when I get to unleash this amp's full power!
What kinda stuff do you use your for?

Does anyone know how many stages of gain the Rocker 15 has?
Combo or Terror assuming it is the same.

The clean channel has 1 single gain stage, the dirty channel has 3 gain stages.
