You have to upload to a photo host like imgur and then click the image button on your post and insert the image .jpg link address between the [img] tags

Google doesn't really let you hot link photos easily, and they would need to be the actual photo file. But we can see the link remotely. It's a late 70's OR-80 reverb combo. What is your question?

So, click on the picture until it is the photo alone. Copy the URL and insert it into the image tag.
What do you want to know? Looks 74-ish, mid-70's. Weighs a ton.

It’s one of the ones with the weird aftermarket rear panel. I think that was a Swedish importer that did those.

1978 - I stand corrected.
Cool amp - bet it sounds great and still weighs a ton!

It is a 78 yes, serial and greenbacks code point to that.
I am using it with an extra 2x12, that used to be the same kind of combo, but doesn't have the amp still in it.
However, the codes on those greenbacks point to 1972.
Which means it was never an OD? They started in 76?
So it used to be an OR? Were those made in 72? With the exact same chassis?
Questions:
I have read that my 78 used to have to open slots for extra tubes (80/100 watt?)
In the pictures Ive seen of someone using all slots, the tubes have been the same height, which they aren't in mine.
Was told that mine has a mod, for a bit more gain. Are those extra tubes that mod?
Also read that when only using 2 of the 4 slots, the ohm is off. What ohm setting should I use for the 78 only?
And, most importantly, what ohm setting should I use when using both the 78 amp and the 72 cab.
I am guessing all speakers are 16 ohm?
Ole

OD's were a later amp so that other combo would have been OR80 or OR120.caliban wrote: ↑Wed Apr 04, 2018 10:21 amIt is a 78 yes, serial and greenbacks code point to that.

OR80's and OR120's are the same amp except the OR80's only have two tube sockets. Sometimes people added them back in to make an 80 into a 120.
You really need to know the impedance to set the selector correctly. The 80's could be off by a number but some weren't.

It looks to me like your amp has reverb. Do you have all the parts for the reverb on your amp? If there’s no reverb tank, you won’t hear any additional sounds from it.caliban wrote: ↑Wed Apr 04, 2018 10:21 amI have read that my 78 used to have to open slots for extra tubes (80/100 watt?)

Re: How do I add photos to a post? Got Q´s about 70`s combos.
Your amp came from the factory as an OR-80 reverb combo. These models had extra *pre-amp* tubes placed in the open power tube sockets for the reverb circuit (the sockets are unused as the OR-80 only has 2 EL-34s...there were no OR-120 reverb models due to this. The OR-120 has all 4 sockets used up by power tubes).caliban wrote: ↑Wed Apr 04, 2018 10:21 amIt is a 78 yes, serial and greenbacks code point to that.

Without seeing internal chassis picture, we can't say if those tubes are still being used for reverb. It's possible that the reverb circuit was disconnected and someone modified the amp to use them for extra gain. That would probably sound horrible, but it's possible. People do stupid modifications to old amps.
To advise you on the proper ohm setting, we would need to know what the impedance of the speaker sets are. Pictures would help determine how they are wired. Guessing is fine, but it doesn't guarantee you're guessing correctly.
