How do we know what that reason is? Maybe Orange make a bigger profit off the RV line as they are cheaper to make than the OR series Id imagine.
Could you describe in detail why the RV series would be cheaper to make than the OR series? I'm interested. Considering among other things that the Rockerverb has the addition of a valve-driven spring reverb tank.
and the attenuator

and the second channel

and power scaling

In reading between the lines elsewhere on this forum, there is a very good chance more will be announced this year. Musikmesse is only about 2-3 weeks away.
Not holding my breath because something would have already leaked if there was a major release being announced in a few weeks. News leaked from all the other manufacturers announcements weeks before NAMM. Also, Orange was teasing the Hinds amp weeks before NAMM, they haven't said a thing about anything upcoming.
I would rather stay optimistic. Besides, all this tells me is that another product reveal hasn't yet leaked or been "teased".

In 2008 Orange waited until Musikmesse to reveal the 40th Anniversary OR50. Right now I find it much harder to believe Orange won't have something special bearing "50th Anniversary" on it than to think this year's announcements are finished before the other major industry events have even happened. It's also way more fun to speculate than to rule it out completely.

Return of the Rocker 30 Head or the OR50? Maybe hand wired? Maybe a new variant with some different wattages or features (e.g. Power scaling or OR with FX Loop)? An entirely new release? Anything is possible!

agreed. I am hardly in the market for anything but I have been jonesing for an OR50. Something it feels like everyone is ignoring is the used market. If you want an OR50 or OR100, get a used one. You can find one about any time. Other than the AD50 and a couple other more limited ones, I can't really think of many that you can't find on a regular basis.

As a few have already pointed out earlier, supposedly Orange pulled the plug on the OR100 because no one wants big, vintage sounding amps anymore. They already have the modern sounds covered with the 50/100 watt RV and DD series apparently and they still make the OR50 CS, so they wont be putting out another one. So whats left? They appear to be catering to bedroom warriors with their non-stop 15 watt offerings and the new Crush Mini and dont appear to be interested in making any amps for working musicians any longer. Thats fine though because Marshall, Friedman Mesa and Fender keep putting out great 20, 35, 40, 50, 60 and 100 watt heads and combos. Orange has the smallest choices of amps by far unless you are looking for solid state or 15 watt and under amps. But hey, if thats what works for them as a business model, have at it. They have lost a customer though.

Yeah it’s true you can find them pretty regularly. There are people who only buy new though. Some new features would definitely go a long way in helping to sell new ones.

I can see that for sure. The attenuator on the RV, DD, and TV series is absolutely fantastic so I am hoping that feature makes its way onto some newer models.

Also, this is me putting in a vote for more Pics only faces because lets face it... those are clearly the sexiest designs. :)

The above article implies there MAY be a looming RVMKIV. Maybe that will be a thing on this 50th anniversary model year.

Thats been up for quite awhile. MKI was released in 2004, MKII in 2010 and MKIII in 2015. Its only been three years. IV wont be coming this year.

Orange has NEVER had the width of product offering that M*rshall or some of the others had...

We look back at "all these lost models" but realize that they were never ALL in production at the same time...

My wager is that Musikmesse will bring a 50th anniversary OR50 with some crazy paint schemes and an effects loop.... the chasis certainly can handle it and I'm fairly certain the circuit doesn't pose any native challenges to adding it into the path either.

They have quite a few actually, its just that 80% of them are either solid state or 15 watts. I mean come on, the line with the biggest selection in wattage are their SS practice amps. A bit ridiculous IMO.Is it really that difficult to give us 100 and 50 watt versions of the OR and TH series? Make the 100 watt versions, pull two power tubes and viola! a 50 watt version. Replace the TH30 with the 50 and make it switchable down to 25-30 watts. They are all made in China anyways, can't be that expensive. Make a new Rocker 30 while you're at it. Im sure the schematics are still laying around somewhere....

The TH100 did that, switchable to 75 - 50 - 35 W but now discontinued (probably didn't sell enough). An underrated amp for sure, that doesn't have the hype of UK made gear, and with a too big price tag for a Made in China head.
100W and made in China may frighten people (I honestly admit I was before buying one), all recent Orange big watts heads are UK made I think, and are by the way more expensive.
The line is not that bad R32 OR15 DD50 DD100, etc, but 50W and over tube heads are all over 1500 euros!!
And the practice SS amps seem not to be as good/cheap compared with other brands (Blackstar id core is a perfect example).

Everything that you're describing has been done and discontinued, I don't know why this is so hard to understand. There was an OR100, they stopped making it. There was a TH100 that could be switched down 30/50/70 watts, they stopped making it. There was a Thunderverb 50 and a 200, they stopped making it. You seem to have this idea in your head that they stopped making these amps just for the hell of it.

I used to chat with their old National Sales Manager Eric Sands every year when i'd see him at Sweetwater and suffice it to say the high watt amps were not selling as much as the Lunchbox amps. That doesn't mean Orange abandoned their high watt amps, in fact the then-new OR100 debuted around that time, but they've kept their product line in moderation and have always offered a few choices at each level. The number of high watt amps they sell today is comparable (actually larger) than what they had then, they've grown quite a lot in the last 8 years. Orange isn't Marshall, and they never have been. They don't have the overhead to keep a bloated product line around. They've always been a smaller company, which is the point Dark Helmet was making that seemed to go right over your head.
