The Only 50 watt full size amp....(in the entire range) .... with el34s, and 3 band eq is the Rockerverb mkiii which is incredibly expensive even in the uk.

The only 30 watt full size head with effects loop is the th30 and that does not even have a full eq?
And the Dual Dark 50, and the CS50. Expensive, yes, but they are available.

The DD100 is switchable down to 30 watts and the 50 is switchable down to 25, so is the RV50 MK3 and they both have effects loops.

It's always about what the market will PAY for....

if you want them to make a certain type of amp, then you need to be buying those... NEW.

expensive British-made big-output boxes are not in vogue right now and they don't sell particularly well, so there will always be a revolving door or sorts with those offerings, looking to capture a market that is hungry.

the RVs are the steady ones, always there, always sell, WIDE appeal to different genres.

The Rocker30 died first
Then the Thunderverbs died
the Dual Darks kinda replaced the TV series (although with no reverb)

AD5-15-30 combos have all been shut down as Combo's made in england seem to just be a bad idea.... I THINK the RV50 is the only combo made in england right now...
AD50-CS is long gone
AD30R is even longer gone (and probably deservingly... but I still want one)
the AD30HTC lives. again, a versatile, unique amp that its owners tend to adore. Probably a limited time left on this one, as the used market is a STEEP discount from new even for a cream-puff.

If you want an OR50, I believe you can still get a Custom Shop 50, which is pricey, for sure, but is a VERY similar circuit.
OR you can get an OR15 (chinese), not exactly the same, but nifty/fun little amp with some serious chops for certain music types.
OR100 was cool, but cannibalized the RV100, so that was dumb.

add the new Rockers (which I don't think are anything like the old ones with EL34s, but whatever).... and you have a nice spectrum.

Rocker 15
OR15

Rocker32
AD30
TH30

RV50
DD50
CS-50*

RV100
DD100
TH100

I'm guessing the TH30/100 will die next. The Rockers should kill the 30, and the 100 might only survive based on being a 100W all-tube offering at that price point.

I haven't bought a single NEW orange tube amp, all 5 were used, and all but 1 I COULD HAVE bought new, but chose to save money. So I am in no position to complain or criticize.

Yes I have to agree Orange need to introduce another full size head, there does seen to be a gap in the lineup..... probably made in china to keep costs down , 50 watts with 3 band eq , effects loop, maybe 2 channels (or maybe only 1) and power scaling.....with el34s.......OK similar to the RVmkiii but significantly cheaper but to make it different I'd base it around the OR models.
Ive been saying this for months and was hoping for something big this year for their 50th anniversary at NAMM when everyone releases or at least announces their major products for the year, but nope. Ade is far too obsessed with making tiny little 15 watt lunchbox amps to be bothered making anything else. To those who say there are already two 50/100 watt Orange amps, I say so what? There were already like a dozen 15 watt amps too but they still felt the need to make TWO more this year. Its incredibly frustrating, I went with a couple 100 watt amps from other companies because I was tired of waiting around for Orange to finally put out something more than 15-30 watts.

Applying some common sense here would indicate what the majority of their customers are buying then, would it not?

As the person who started this thread, Ive also been considering a 50 watter from another maker ie Laney ....15 watters for me just do not have the same presence and versatility as a bigger amp but having played my ad30htc at a super gig last night it sounded great .....I dont need another amp ........!

As much as we dislike it, there's a reason why the OR50 and OR100 have been discontinued. The general public hasn't got the same desire as some of us have for vintage tone big amps.

And Orange have the big valve modern tones well covered!!!!!

How do we know what that reason is? Maybe Orange make a bigger profit off the RV line as they are cheaper to make than the OR series Id imagine.

I can’t see them being cheaper to make.

In reading between the lines elsewhere on this forum, there is a very good chance more will be announced this year. Musikmesse is only about 2-3 weeks away.

Production costs isn't an issue here, but sales number would be. It's dead simple - if something sells well, they'll keep making it.

Of course they are. Production costs are an issue for EVERY company. Even Apple, the most profitable company on the planet has everything made in China to cut down production costs.

Not holding my breath because something would have already leaked if there was a major release being announced in a few weeks. News leaked from all the other manufacturers announcements weeks before NAMM. Also, Orange was teasing the Hinds amp weeks before NAMM, they haven't said a thing about anything upcoming.

Could you describe in detail why the RV series would be cheaper to make than the OR series? I'm interested. Considering among other things that the Rockerverb has the addition of a valve-driven spring reverb tank.
