Yea, Im not saying the Orange 2x12 CB is bad at all, its quite good. I really liked how it sounded with my Orange and Marshall amps, not with my 6505 though. The Mesa cab sounds killer with that but its not surprising because the Rectifier cab was made with a high gain amp in mind whereas the Orange cab was not.Gray wrote: ↑Tue Mar 27, 2018 8:21 pmAll OEM Celesion V30's are "assembled in China", it's only Mesa who has a "special" version made for them in England. There are numerous videos and forum topics out there on the web comparing them and they all have different conclusions ranging from the Mesa's sounding worse, to better, to no different at all. From what I recall, they also have a slightly different load.
Again, if you want to believe that these things add up to a cab that's less "dark and muddy" then go right ahead. We aren't the first and won't be the last people to have this debate.

That's another thing too, different amps can emphasize (or de-emphasize) characteristics of those cabs and speakers.
Just so I don't seem totally full of it here's a topic I pulled up from the SD forum talking about these very same speakers. A bunch of the usual debate in there, but someone replied with a tone comparison at the bottom that makes Mesa's V30 sound much darker than the OEM V30, which is the complete opposite of what other people have experienced. https://www.seymourduncan.com/forum/sho ... 30-speaker
What's the "real" truth? Who can say.

By the way, the V30s in the Orange (like all others aside from the Mesas) are actually made in China, not "assembled" in China.

Sorry by assembled I meant the same thing, it's just that Celestion (like many companies) uses the "designed in _____" moniker.

Thanks for that. Shame he doesn't mention which cabs, what amp, how it was recorded etc...I much prefer a video where they explain what they are doing.Gray wrote: ↑Tue Mar 27, 2018 8:35 pmThat's another thing too, different amps can emphasize (or de-emphasize) characteristics of those cabs and speakers.

Yeah and I mean for what it's worth the OEM v30 and Mesa's v30 even cost the same.
