Tiny Terror 1x12 Greenback Gigging question
Hi - 1st post here.......
There's a limited edition Tiny Terror 1x12 w/ Celestion Greenback on sale for $599 new, reg $899 (brand new). Good price, but was wondering if it's going to be enough for a 200 cap room mic'd? Let me know if anyone here has one, if they dig it, and if its got enough juice to do a gig. Thanks! PS its the combo model!

Re: Tiny Terror 1x12 Greenback Gigging question
Hi, welcome on board.
Yep it's loud enough if you use it through a decent PA.
I've used mine (through a 212 open back) to gig a couple of times.
Have u used a TT before? Great dirty crunch tone but imo not much in the way of flexibility or clean head room if I need it.
The new Rocker 15 seems more versatile.

Technically, anything can be loud enough if it's mic'd through a great PA. See Neil Young's set-up. But you would have to ensure that you're only playing places with great PA's....

Thanks for the input, seeing as I only play R nRoll - no need for a clean channel(Ha!) and yes, all rooms will be pro level'd PA.
Looks like I'm going to move on it.
Thanks again.

Volume wont be a problem if you are mic'd but to state the obvious, its going to lack that punch that you want with rock you can really only get from a bigger amp with bigger tubes. Its also going to have really limited headroom for any leads. All depends if you are playing more rhythm or more lead. If you are playing a NY Dolls style kind of rock, you will for sure want a lot more than a 15 watt amp.

For the record, the Dolls have been playing with AD30s as of late. Billy posted a bunch of pictures from it in a thread on here, but they were all on Photobucket

Thanks for the continued thoughts!
"The Dolls" current line-up is using Blackstar but used Marshall backline in Japan a couple weeks back.
Slick was using Orange on the last real New York Dolls tour, which (if you can follow this(!)) is different from the current line-up billed as "The Dolls". The "NY" has been removed due to some issues, allegedly of course.......

Re: Tiny Terror 1x12 Greenback Gigging question
I used to gig with a Tiny Terror (and later, a Dark Terror) through a couple of PPC112s. Never had any problems with volume, and did a few gigs without mic'ing up too. Very rarely needed the volume past about 11 o'clock.
Comments have been made about the lack of low end/punch with a lower wattage amp. I had a Rockerverb for a while, but I got rid of it and bought the Dark Terror instead. It didn't have as much bottom end, true... but it still had enough.

Thanks for all the input everyone!
I wound up going a different route and got a Rocker 15.
Better EQ options, loop and can hook up to a 4x12 / 2x12 as well - Still super easy for load-ins.
Being delivered tomorrow, can't wait to crank it up!

Awesome, congrats! Haven’t had a chance to play the head yet, but it sounds great in the demos I’ve watched.
Re: Tiny Terror 1x12 Greenback Gigging question
Congrats on the R15! Much more versatile than the TT, imho. (And I owned a TTHW, so I know of what I speak...)
Did you get the combo or the head?

Re: Tiny Terror 1x12 Greenback Gigging question
I went combo only b/c I can use it at the house and I've cut my amp stable down to 2. Other reason is I'm going to use it on a new recording that I want to have a 70's (or attempted, Ha!) Mc5 or Stooges under-current feel by injecting something different that just using an 800-type amp (Marshall). Hopefully going to head in this weekend and try to get the tone I want to use. Will keep anyone who cares posted!

Try plugging into a proper cab if you get the chance.

Thankfully, "The Dolls" have the lineup with Steve Conte and Syl on guitar (and Sami Yaffa on bass, Robert Eriksson on drums). Steve was playing a Vox AC30 on the tour at one show, a Marshall half stack at the other, Syl had a Marshall 4X12 cab with some weird two channel head on top, Sami through an SVT. Clearly, the shows were all backline I think since Sami had SVT head at one show and something else at another.NYDolls wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2018 9:10 pmThanks for the continued thoughts!

Earl didn't know what the f he was doing when he was in the band. It was embarrassing - I knew the songs better than he did without rehearsal. Pretty sure you can't have New York in there without David.
