Haven't posted in a long while...

Post by Norrin Radd » Sat Feb 24, 2018 2:13 pm

Just wanted to confirm I've had my RV50 for nearly 14 years now. It's been a workhorse. Still sounds amazing. Been through a "few" tube changes and that's about it maintenance wise. Thought my reverb tank was shot once - just needed (you know what's coming) a new tube.

In any event, I can assure you that this amp sounds greatest on the dirty channel with the Volume at 1-2:00 and all the other knobs dialed to taste. I usually set the dirt between 10:30 & 3:00 (depends on the mood - you know?). Also, I run a delay in the loop (flavor of the day - usually analog because I love that decay tone! :D ). And occasionally I'll run a Flint in there too for the tremolo - and occasionally a Deco for all kinds of subtle modulation - but infrequently). Oh yeah - just a cable between the guitar and amp. Nothing else needed.

Enjoy your Oranges! Truly an amazing tone. 8)

And of course - sounds best with a Tele.

Ah ah!!!

I plugged in my RV50 (9 years old now) a couple of nights ago and thought to myself that I'm a really lucky man to have that amp. I already know I love it, yet I'm still in awe of it's incredible tone.... and still surprise myself re-realising how beautiful the sound coming out of that beast is.....

Nope, just a stat I've heard. I am only on my 12th year (together 16), but I think we'll make it past 14!

My Rockerverb was great. I sold it to a friend, it's still going strong.

I remember the shock and awe I caused when I replaced it with the Dark Terror :D

Hi Sir! Nice to see you here! :D

Your RV50 did sound mighty fine too.

You should get another one some day.

Do you still have your dark terror down south?
