I hope it sounds a lot more like the R30 and not the R32...If its just the R32 with his name on it in Terror size, I'll pass. The R32 is one of my least favorite Orange amps.

Did you try it through a different cab? I wasn't impressed with the 210s.

So what's its specs?

30 or 15 watts? , It looks to have 2 channels as far as I can tell from the photos and a 1/2 power switch, effects loop?, Gain stages?

It'd be interesting if it turns out to be more or less a Rocker 30 with a half power switch and an FX Loop.

Its not so much the 10s as it is the EL84s sound nothing like the 6CA7s and the Demeter transformer in my UK made R30 is far superior to the random transformer in the Chinese made R32. Check out 7:02 in this clip with the 335. The R30 sounds night and day better than the R32. That video is done direct, not using the speakers. R30 still sounds worlds better.

Thejay, a forum member here, did a comparison between his R30 and R32 through V30 speakers. Pretty much near identical.

What you probably didn't like with the R32 is the speakers.

See the link I posted above. They dont sound alike at all IMO. The R30 destroys it. It sounds way bigger, beefier and much less compressed. The R32 sounds thin, nasally and compressed.

Again, what you hear there is the difference between the 10" VOTW and the 12" V30.

That isn't the comparison he made using the same V30 cabs. He did make another one. Try and look up through his reviews, you should find it. :)

No, I know what the difference between 10s and 12s sound like. Im hearing the much bigger and beefier EL34s put out a way better and thicker tone vs the smaller EL84s. Not to mention the Demeter transformer in the R30 crushes the generic transformers used in the Chinese made Oranges. That makes a far bigger difference than 10s vs 12s.

That should be the R30/R32 comparison through V30.

Tell me how much of what you thought is down to valves & transformers or speakers after giving it a listen. :)
