Which is your favourite Orange amp?

And why?

Mine probably is my RV50 MKI.
I love the wonderful clean channel, the crazy reverb, and the "more gain than you need" dirty channel.

I don't really play heavy stuff, so hard rock material, and that RV50 is brilliant for everything i play - jazz to HEAVY going rock.

I also have a AD15 and R30, and love them both, but the RV50 edges it for me.

What's yours? And why?

The now discontinued AD30TC combo. Two extremely usable and versatile channels and just good old loud Orange-ness. I used to change amps a lot but I've been happy with this amp since 2004!

And they sound good with 4X12's, too!

How do you run your dual amp set up? Both at once? AB box?

Do you prefer their tone to your OR too, or are they just more practical volume wise?

I lovedthe AD30TC combo I had for a short while. Great amp. And I love my AD15. Great great little combo.

When I use both amps I use the stereo out from the G-System - Sounds big.

As much as I like the sounds of my vintage OR's, I prefer this. It's both classic and modern at the same time. To be honest, I don't know why I keep the OR's any more - I really don't use them - same with the AD140TC head. Maybe it's time for a BC Yard Sale...

Hang on to them. In your late 80s, your ORs and AD140, once cranked, will probably be the only thing you can still hear.

I might need to invest in one of those the way my own hearing is going......

Definitely the OR-80/120

Nothing else sounds like it.

I've owned a few Orange amps but for me this is an easy answer

The Ad30htc .

IMO the best clean tones of any orange amp I've owned which works really well with pedals, excellent overdrive , sag and ability to switch both channel cleanish to dirty.

Having said that my favourite overdrive tone is the TTHW......... just not versatile enough for me to play live .....now a Ad30 hard wired would be really something!

So maybe the answer isn't simple at all !!

That's very true.

My ideal Orange amp would have the 2 channels and reverb of my RV50, sandwiching the channel A of the AD15/30, and the dirty channel of the R30, the boost found on the OR100, and the "attenuator" from the Thunderverb.

With that set up, you'd be sorted for any music style. I wonder how huge would be the footswitch Orange would need to produce for that  . I would probably need to build a house extension just for it.......

I'm lucky enough to own an AD50 Custom Shop (built by Ade Emsley), played through a PPC112 x 2
that I absolutely love to bits. I play old rock and some country and the setup is pretty near perfect.
I also have an OR15H for smaller venues, but it's not quite the same.

please let me know if you do!

OR120 without a doubt. The bass and midrange (bass player here) was just heavenly.
