I have a lot of intrigue with this mod but sadly I can't discern the difference either. Do you notice a bigger difference in person?

Well i'm old & probably a bit deaf :) & on my crappy computer speakers I can hear enough difference to ask, could this mod be made to work the other way round?,i.e.mod a JRT to get the OR15 tone & be able to switch between both?,having the extra flexibility would be a big plus for the JRT.

On my budget LG I can clearly hear the difference in the vid comparing the OR15 to the JRT.

But I can't hear any difference in the modded OR video.

(To be fair, he was using a slant cab with the OR and a straight cab with the JRT and the cabs weren't individually close-miced. With a single distant mic, the cabs' dispersion differences and the placement of the mic may have contributed to the tonal differences.)

The difference is the voicing, which I think everyone is going to hear a bit differently, but it’s there. It’s a good mod for this amp I think just to have the availibilty of both amp voicings. I could criticize the techs work though...

Is there a description of the Mod & the components involves,i've read through the thread, but didn't find a description from the OP?
If the components are added to an OR15,i presume they would need to be bypassed in the JRT,which could be tricky, depending on the layout.
I'm really interested in trying this out, more info would be great.

Yeah I'm having a hard time capturing the different voicing with my phone. It's much more noticeable in the room. If you bounce back and forth on the scrub bar from say :05 to :20 its easier to hear.

I Can hear a very slight variation in tone.

The #4 mode seems a little tighter (not massively) and a touch more top end? Is that right?

How I hear the two is:
OR15 = warmer/looser, perfect for classic rock/stoner tones
#4 = more open, throaty sounding/definitely tighter, perfect for metal/better clean tones

I could never get a good palm mute chugging tone out of the OR15, that was the main reason I wanted to try doing this mod. And who wouldn't want two amps in one?

Do you find the mod to the OR15 sounds similar to comparing the OR15 to the JR (assuming you still have both and have compared) ?

I think what your asking is - Does the #4 mod on the OR15 sound like the #4 amp? If thats correct, yes the mod sounds the same as the #4 amp.

Cool, I can hear a pretty big difference just in the iPhone clip. I could see where the root mod would work better for aggressive musics, which is right up my alley, I would like to have this done to my Rockerverb!

I dont hear much of a difference, gain sounds the same. Only difference I hear is the JR side sounds like a slight treble boost, its a bit brighter. As long as you like it, thats all that matters!
