Kuro R120, Iskrem Electro Cat'O'dyne or Dunwich DA120 for OR120 Tones?
I understand a pedal will only get me partially there, but an amp is out of the question right now. I currently have a Tech 21 Oxford for early Orange (OR120) tones. I like it, except for the somewhat brittle high end I can't seem to dial out. Cannot get my Strat to sound good through it except for clean settings---way to glassy with any fair amount of gain. Humbuckers sound pretty good through it. Has anyone out there compared the Oxford to any of these? I would expect them to be superior, but which is the most authentically OR120? Not interested in more modern Orange tones right now (e.g. Wampler Catapulp = Rockerverb). Anyone, please?

Sorry for no replies but I have zero experience with those pedals....

Unfortunately I don't have any experience with these pedals either but I was wondering what amp your running it into and how that amp is setup before you start adding the drive?
In my rocker 30 I would tend to get the natural channel to be on the edge of breakup and then run a dirt box into the front end. Sometimes distortion boxes like been used into a slightly pushed amp. This isn't always the case and this might not help you but if you let us know what you're running it into we might have a better idea?

Sure---I run pedals through my Mesa/Boogie Studio Preamp's clean channel, set VERY clean with fairly neutral eq settings. The clean is very much Fender black face. The Mesa goes to a Peavey 120 watt 6L6 based power amp. On pedals that are designed to function as a preamp (e.g. Tech 21 Sansamp and AMT Electronics Legend Amp Series pedals), I often run those directly into the power amp.

I'm closing this thread due to lack of response. I'm a bit disappointed considering the fact I provided detailed information, and it had to do with pedals that emulate the OR120. I had better luck on The Gear Page. Whatever---Happy Holidays.

Hope you got your answers sorted on the gear page. You'll find that here, users trying to emulate the OR120 will keenly talk about their OR120, R30, OR50, Matamps. I don't believe you'll find a user here that believes these tones van be achieved with a pedal - hence the lack of reply to your thread asking for very specific opinions of pretty rare and obscure pedals (That I assume none of us have ever tried, or probably even heard of!!!!!).
The best advice is to get an OR120 - buy all those pedals, compare, keep the best, sell the rest.

You don't have the ability to close a thread.
People on the Orange amp forum own the *amps*, as opposed to pedals that attempt to emulate them. So, it seems logical to me that you'd have better luck on a forum with 10 times the member base, in contrast to a small forum of individuals that are unlikely to own the products you are looking for info on.
Personally, I have 2 OR-120s, and thus have no need for a pedal that tries to sound like one. When you posted, I did take the time to track down the websites and some youtube clips for the pedals that you were listing. You didn't provide any links, but I looked them up and listened to the clips. IMO, the Iskrem was the only one that didn't sound like garbage, but the builder couldn't be bothered to tune the guitar in his clip, so it was really tough to tell how the pedal actually sounded. In the end, I decided I couldn't provide any worthwhile input, so I never replied.
Hopefully The Gear Page got you what you needed. Come here for info on Orange amps. Go elsewhere for info on other products.
