Wow 2017 RV50MKIII

Post by cddsix » Sat Oct 21, 2017 5:26 pm

Just picked up a black RV50 MKIII from Sweetwater, I've owned a MKIII before but unfortunately traded it away on a Bogner, regretted it so had to pick another.
I also currently have MKII and TH30 and have owned OR15s also. This MKIII is the best I've ever heard and think I ever will hear. You really notice the tone tweaks they did recently and bigger transformers etc, when played side by side with the MKII, the new one really blows it away in all categories. The clean channel is much better than I remembered and the Reverb is so much better than any previous MK
Anyone else get RV50 MKIII lately, and your thoughts?

Sweetwater is a great place. I'm in there at least once a month test driving stuff. I'll check out the RV50 next time I'm there. How does it sound compared to the TH30 at lower volume levels?

Both MKIII and TH30 are equally awesome at low volumes, very impressive. I usually can't coax a great sound out of amps at whisper low volumes but both of these excel I'd have to give the TH30 a bit of an edge just because those four el84 have a bit more aggression.

Thanks for the info. I tried out an OR15 at Gear Fest this year. I went back a week later to pick one up (the place was a zoo during G.F.). Gave a Th30 a run through. Bought the TH30 instead.
