Been a while, back with TH30 and MKII

Post by cddsix » Sat Oct 14, 2017 11:51 am

I forgot about this awesome forum. In the past I've owned MKII, MKIII, OR15s, currently discovered the TH30s, tried a combo and now have a head.
THis amp is handles down the best and most versatile of not just Orange, but any amp I've ever owned.
The main reason I love it is it does METAL so well, I put a 6 band EQ in the loop and it hulk smashes any riff that is put into it. THe cleans arent as pristine as the MKII I have, but they are very acceptable.
I've discovered I can't go long without Oranges, every time I try and get rid of one to try something else, I end up having to buy one to replace it within a month or two.

Sorry this was a long post about nothing, I'm just enjoying that I re-discovered this place

I think the TH30 is about the best amp out there. The clean channel is my favorite. If every other orange amp had to leave, the th30 would do everything I need.

The TH30 impressed me quite a lot when I tried it. And yes, that clean channel is rather marvellous!!!

Beautiful cranked too!!!

Happy to see we are a few liking the qualities of this amp.
I have the big brother TH100, and it's so difficult to have an amp with that quality on clean tone, and being able to do anything from crunch to hi-gain so well.

I would agree with what several of you have restated, the TH30 is amazing, to me it is the best rock/metal sound available, takes the Rockerverb gain and one ups it....and yes sounds amazing cranked!
I do think the MKII clean channel is a touch more clear/chimey, but the TH30 clean is still very very good.
Orange make beautiful sounding amps. Funny to use a word like that describing an amps sound, but that is what it is.

I love my TH30! Try putting a two-stroke pedal in the loop. You won't believe your ears.

awesome 69stonecat, I will try that, always good to find tips that work, because honestly Orange are kind of finicky as to what may work for say an OD in front etc. I have found a 6 band MXR EQ in the loop completely transform any Orange I have into a magical experience

just looked at the two stroke online, wow that looks awesome, I have never seen that before. Great I'll have to add that to the list and spend more money, thanks a lot, ha kidding
