Very patiently waiting for delivery

After drooling for over a year, I found a gently used 100w rockerverb mkiii for a great price.

I'm excited to go back to a two - channel amp for the first time in many years and to have a big amp with an effects loop.

Now I just have to wait! :D

I got my amp today. Hooray! It is in perfect cosmetic condition and everything seems to function as it should. The tone is really close to my OR15, which is what I was hoping for!

It will take me a little to get used to the volume control. I'm used to a Marshall 2204, which doesn't get louder past 10 o'clock on the knob. I initially thought the rockerverb wasn't loud but I played around with it and discovered that it's plenty loud.

I didn't try the effects loop or the power scaling yet. I've never had an amp with reverb on board, nor do I use much reverb. That being said, I found the rockerverb's reverb to be pretty good sounding. I'm going to have to figure out which features I'll want a footswitch for as well.

Footswitch for everything possible!!!...that what I say.

Changing channels is just a must, having the possibility of kicking in the reverb for some added dreaminess or just lushing out when soloing is an awesome feature and of course the one thing I really wish I had was the attenuator cause honestly 100w is just way too much but having an onboard, built-in boost is da bomb!!!

I´ve tried the or15 and whilst it was decent i really didn´t think it was a match for my RV 50 mkII. I get the feeling the more you play around with it the less you´ll find yourself plugging into the OR 15.

What are you playing through? orange cab? 412, 112, 212? open or closed back?

I'm playing the mkiii through a ppc412 and OR15 through a ppc112. I REALLY like recording with the 112.

Congrats!!!!!

Yeah, footswitch for everything - that's what I'd do. I love a bit of verb when soloing, or on cleans.

Glad you're loving it!
Mine 8s the original RV50 MKI, I still love it greatly!!!!

I'll probably just build a 3 button footswitch in a small enclosure so I don't have some monstrosity under foot, even though the orange switches are cute.

Now that I've had my rockerverb for a few weeks, I'm still in love with it. It pretty much does everything I want it to.

The clean channel is great. It sounds awesome with a fuzz pedal too. The reverb on the amp is very useable and sounds really good with both channels. I only used the effects loop a bit but was pleased with that as well.

The dirty channel is everything I've ever wanted. Last night I recorded some clips comparing it to my other amps and now I'm sure I will sell my 2204. I can get the rockerverb to do what the 2204 does, but also get good higher gain sounds that i like.

I did notice that the face plate was REALLY hot after an hour or so of playing the amp at earplugs volume.

I'm also having a hard time adjusting to the master volume knob's taper. I'm so used to the 2204, where it's pretty much maxed out volume wise by 10 or 11 o'clock. The rockerverb maxes out around 2 or 3 o'clock. At first I thought the rockerverb wasn't as loud as a result. once i realized that though, it was fine. overall this seems like the perfect amp for me!

Cool, it's fairly normal for the metal parts of the head to get hot so I would nt get concerned about it.

enjoy !

Great stuff!!!

It's very reassuring to know that you've made the right move. They are big purchases after all, and until you try them in your own house, with your band and with your gear, it's difficult to know how well it will fit.

My RV50 MKI still does that to me. I bought it 8 years ago now, and it never fails. I call it a smile switching device......

switch-doctor (ampfootswitch.com) does custom 3-buttons with orange-y graphics... LOVE mine...
