I used to own an Orange AD5 - which I sold after getting my AD15.

I managed to snag another one!!!! I got my son a Blackstar HT1R (he's just 5 and love making noise with it) but I'm gonna try to replace that with the AD5.

A much better amp in all aspects really. (That Blackstar is a bit underwhelming..... though at 1w, I don't have to worry about my son deafening himself)

Looking forward to receiving it!!!!

It's a really great amp, some of the best cleans I've ever heard (ok, no headroom.... but amazing cleans nonetheless). I sold it at the time as my AD15 totally replaced it, but I hope it'll be a better amp for my son than the blackstar HT1R. Well, it is, but I need to see if the lesser HT1R is more practical or not.

I think my current dream combo right now is a single channel AD30. Would be cool to get my hands on one of those guys.

I think you shouldn't discount the AD30TC - channel A is exactly the same as the single channel. Have you ever tried it?

Funny, i wasn't a fan either

until I bought a combo with broken in speakers.

That was GLORIOUS. really great amp.
I had the same issue with the R30. Tried it 3 times in shop, heads and combo, and wasn't impressed. Then I bought the head on ebay to flip it as it was so cheap, and through my well broken in PPC212..... glorious again. It stayed home.

Anyway..... I think you need an AD140..... perhaps the Orange amp to solve your headroom issues......

Oh back onto the headroom issue? I gave up on Orange

I use a 500 watt bass stack now. Provides me with a super hi-fi chimey tone (tweeter rolled in slightly) I've not heard from any guitar amp. That said, I've had my stink eye on the CR120H. The 60 sounded wicked, and 120 watts of SS power should be more than enough for a big clean tone.

I've got a bad feeling about that one.

I paid as soon as I won the auction..... the seller has only got 1 previous feedback. I sent 2 queries, none of them answered..... the amp isn't updated to shipped.....

It looks like I might have to involve eBay on that one and get a refund!!!!!

as noted previously.... get one that is WELL broken-in...

and my personal jones is now an AD30R, and maybe an AD5 too... half-tempted to make a run at the full-range of AD-series amps... I have the toughest one already sorted... 5, 15, 30R, 30TC (30 w/o reverb I'm willing to skip), 50, 140, 200B... not sure I can afford the divorce lawyer since she's already kinda pissed about the AD50...

If my A30TC didn't have as much sentimental value, I'd sell if for the AD30R.... but it was my first tube amp...

You aren't missing much. The reverb on the AD30R is pretty crap to be honest. You max it out and start crying as you realise there isn't any more reverb on tap, and what's on offer is just way insufficient..... and the rest of the amp is just like channel A of the AD30TC you have.
