Hello and thanks for any help. I just sold my Rockerverb MKII 50w and Im in the market for a OR50 or OR100. I have got to play a OR50 once and heard one in person several times and have always been very impressed by it but the idea of having the extra headroom and an effects loop seems very nice to me so the OR100 has landed on my radar. However I have never heard a OR100 in person so Im not sure how much it really shares with the OR50, also It would cost quite a bit more than a 50 as well. Has anyone had experience with both?

I'm in the opposite camp - I only have experience with the OR100.

It sounds FANTASTIC!!!!
Sadly, I can't buy one.

I would say the 50 as it has that single channel simplicity :) It is the only amp on my GAS list right now.

That said, the 100 can be run at a lower wattage, so if I were someone worried about headroom and versatility (I'm not, but you might be), it would be the 100 for sure. Do you need an EL? That seems to be a deal breaker for most folks.

The EL is a really funny question... it seems like the amps I really want to use some fun effects with (AD30, mostly) DON'T have a loop, and the ones that I think are great on their own (OR15...) do have them... go figure...

Well I'm in the only have played a OR50 camp.
Owned it since 2009. Have played some very low volume gigs recently and the Master Volume control works great.
I've been using a lot of pedals lately too and the lack of effects loop is no problem.

In my experience, Orange master volumes are pretty darn good. Nothing beats pant-flappingly loud tube amp tone, but it can't always be that way for various real world reasons. I think an OR50 would have me set for life. I need to get back into an Orange amp some day...

I have both... and both are fantastic. They can sound very similar dialing them in but there are differences. Major ones are the 50 - 1ch, HF knob / 100 - 2ch, power scaling and of course 50 vs 100w.

Honestly both are fantastic amps but they are different which is why I keep both. It probably comes down to what you play and how you will use it.

This is a crazy valuable piece of information for me. Part of what makes me love the OR50 is the HF knob and I have always thought it should have been included on the OR100.... This might push me towards the OR50!!

Forgot to mention the 100 has a gain boost which, to me, puts it in Rockerverb territory.

The HF on the 50 is priceless though, very controllable and useful.

Do you think that the OR100 can copy what the OR50 does with the HF control or will it seem darker?

I think it's hard to copy without the HF
