Re: Rocker 30 vs Rocker 32 comp
Cool, thanks for that! I can pick out a fuller sound from the Rocker 30. I may be biased as I love the Rocker 30 and have had it up beside a Tiny Terror and Dual Terror. I think its really a matter of taste what sounds better because EL84's have their place. I think the 30 is more expressive to playing and pick attack, a bit more harmonically rich, in part to the big heavy power transformer and EL34 power section. Straight up chord work might be a little tougher to pick out these characteristics between the two. Which do you like better?

There are some definite similarities.
Is still like to hear both these amps through the same speakers.

Re: Rocker 30 vs Rocker 32 comp
Well, what did you think?
From my samsung S7, there's barely anything between them. Quite surprising.
They really both sound very similar.
I thought perhaps the R30 dirty channel was a bit thicker, with a little more low end and girth, but that could simply be biased perception.
How did it compare in the room itself?
I've heard Adrian Emsley say on a number of occasions that 10" speakers are his favourite speakers for guitars.
I wouldn't be surprised that in band settings, they would usually cut through the mix better.

The 32 is more 3D sounding and its very clear to my ears in the room. They are very similar overall though.

That's very interesting Jay.
So you're saying the R32 just about had the edge over the 2 of them?
Thanks a lot for taking the time to make a review with the same speakers - 10" speaker can have such different qualities to 12" speakers.
Now that you've had some time with both, which speakers do you prefer to play it with? Do you reckon it's better one way or the other, or just different?
If you had to gig with either, which would you take along?

Re: Rocker 30 vs Rocker 32 comp
Ade put 2 10” drivers in the TT 10th Anny cab. I’ve had a few 10” cabs... one 4x10 Reverend that was oh so scha-weet! My Marshall Offset 1w has a 10” driver in its cab. Very nice. I like 10” drivers... don’t like 8” drivers so much, though. I like 12” drivers, too, to be sure... but not opposed to 10” drivers by any means.
I recall reading that Ade went with 10” drivers for the new Rocker series for portability reasons.

My gigging days are few at this point and I never gigged the R32, I gigged the R30 one time. Package size I think the R32 is hard to beat and it certainly cuts more because of speaker choice and the stereo FX loop doesn't have that stereo punch... but it does sound like there is more going on sitting in the room which would make sense. I'd love to try the R32 for a gig though...Les Paul Lover wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2017 9:42 pm
