One of those weekends...
Great gig, as usual, at a place we get to play each year towards the end of summer. It's a 2 night deal and the second night we were on fire!!
I had my rv 50mkll with the 112, since its a really small one-room pub, and didn't even bother bringing an extra guitar... just the firebird. We had the drummer behind plastic and the basist left the Orange 810 at home and rolled his OB1 300 through a 210 Ashdown. Of course everything went through the PA and we were still pretty loud but by the amount of complements we got no one seemed to of been bothered.
Our in-ear system got a new mix by a real pro which really gave us back the dynamics we've been missing since leaving monitors.
This was our first gig since the beginning of June since we've had a break and a great start too a pretty hectic late-summer gig schedule.
...and the "beer-stopper" held up well... even though there was no spillage

Re: One of those weekends...
excellent!!!
love it when everything WORKS... I love that feeling with it's tight AND loose...
wife and I scored a babysitter (we have 4 kids) and went to see a great 90s cover/tribute band saturday.... had an absolute blast, and they were similarly on fire... lit a huge fire under me to get out and play again. I haven't performed in over a year now, and I haven't played (have just been singing) in over 3yrs...

4 kids.... I can see the problems in combining band life and that . I had my wife and daughter (9) with me on this one. My Drummer has his partner and she has her older boys with and we make it a gig/camping trip so that all enjoy.Dark Helmet wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2017 1:14 amexcellent!!!

Re: One of those weekends...
Excellent news, looks great.
We also had an excellent gig on Saturday people dancing after the second song , which is always a good sign and the night just got better and better.....and I've gone back to using my Les Paul with my ad30htc and 212 Zilla cab with Greenbacks sounded mint! so a good night all round.

Re: One of those weekends...
I was thinking of bringing the LP but I just get so well along with the Firebird so it stayed at home. The lengthy neck, playability, and ability to dual in a great variety of rock tones have made it a favorite. That and the fact that the size of it makes it look less like a ukulele when I'm holding it!!Ronnie Robinson wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2017 6:35 amExcellent news, looks great.

Re: One of those weekends...
I'm really intrigued about the Firebird, it's definable on my list to buy at some point.

It's good enough to join the other two that I've already inked on to my skinRonnie Robinson wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2017 11:23 amI'm really intrigued about the Firebird, it's definable on my list to buy at some point.

I have a Firebird Studio, and it's a very engaging instrument to play. I like it quite a bit more than I thought I would. biggest problem with it is fitting it in the rack with the odd shape...MikeD wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2017 11:48 amIt's good enough to join the other two that I've already inked on to my skinRonnie Robinson wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2017 11:23 amI'm really intrigued about the Firebird, it's definable on my list to buy at some point.

Yupp, that and whacking everything (or knocking beer over) with the enormously oversized headstock and/or the gigantic booty on itDark Helmet wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2017 2:28 pmI have a Firebird Studio, and it's a very engaging instrument to play. .... it does however take a beating well and does not dent easily!! I think it might just be a "big stage" guitar but if the basist can manouver on small stages with his Fender on steroids so should even I?!... Though I did however almost knock out a few patrons of the last pub we played when I decided to test out my wire-less system and do some dancing with the crowd

Hope that'll be a good one!
I noticed the moustache is a bit more trimmed - was it too much maintenance?
