Did you get some time to play it yet?

How does it compare to your AD30?

VERY different. The available gain is similar, even more touch sensitive. Some obvious family DNA...

But not nearly as compressed. With volume on 2, the AD30 is LOUD. The 50 you really need to work both knobs to get noise in class AB.

Its MUCH louder class A, shockingly so. (To the point it worries me a little)

Thing is absolutely "alive" like the AD30s, it really calls out bad technique. Forces you to play better.

Oh, and the knobs are HUGE!!!!!

I had a similar experience with my Orange AD5 to a degree. I think it might be down to the amps not having a rectifier.
The AD5 didn't have that compressed feeling the 2 AD15s and the AD30TC I've owned had. It was rawer, and bit more aggressive too.

I'd love to play that AD50 for sure!!!!
