the beer-stopper
The last pub gig we had left me having to take apart the loop and a few pedals and clean away the sticky ressidue of gin and tonics and beer that had been spilled throughout the evening. The loop section was cut out that evening and got me thinking what would of happened if it had hit the power supply!! So for an up-coming gig this weekend, where there is no stage or barrier
I decided to build my own beer-sheild.
I´m pretty damned stoked on how well it came out
I´ve even added a lip, not seen on picture, so that beer doesn´t just run out into the middle of my board from the back-end.

What a brilliant idea, looks really good. Patent it and produce them. I'd buy it.

Nice work! I say you add a layer, fill it with water, add some LED's and goldfish!

Re: the beer-stopper
looks nice and effective. Nice build! Have you just glued the plexi panels together?
Re: the beer-stopper
Oh my lord I need that. Can you post some instructions, or is it a trade secret?

Re: the beer-stopper
If that is your mic stand, is it in a position where you can reach all of your pedals?

Thanks guys for your comments!!
As for instructions I just sort of measured the width of the pedal board and went from there doing the side parts first to make sure the length was good so that I could get my feet in and the hight felt good and then cut out the middle parts. The plexi is pretty thin and its left overs from a drum cage I built. I used an electric jigsaw and painters tape when cuttin out the pieces. I then used more tape to keep the seperate pieces in place after glueing them together. I repeated the glueing process on the insides and outsides a few times too make sure the box wasnt to flimsy.
It probably would of been easier just to make a straight rectangular box but I wanted that "deli-shop" feel too it.

What kind of glue?
Re: the beer-stopper
Yupp it´s my mic stand. Sound guys hate me but they just have too learn how to be creative with the gate on my channel .
Yupp, Everything is reachable with my feet, I normally have to kneel down to see what I´m changing on the delay (old age!!) so the box i´sn´t in the way at all. Lets just hope it holds!!

It´s a semi-flexibel kind of crazyglue we have here in Sweden that´s kind of "all-purpose". I had some really hard epoxy 2 Component glue but I was afraid that mught be to brittle.
The first and second test runs are tomorrow at a small pub, with no stage, no barriers and no monitors giving safety distance anymore (seeing that we´ve gone in-ear). Talk about putting it through a tough one !!

Re: the beer-stopper
You should seriously put this on Kickstarter. I have more money in my board than my live amp and guitar rig combined. I purposely avoid taking it out of my house due to paranoia. Heck after our set I'm usually one of those guys up at the stage spilling my beer haha.
