Re: PPC212 Build
Looks to be it. In my sig pic that's actually a roll of it pinned on the wall behind the amp. Makes a nice backdrop
Re: PPC212 Build
Cool. Mojotone had it but it didn't look as good as this stuff I found on ebay, and I'll get metal corners from the same guy on ebay, plus he's cheaper than mojotone on everything any way. Tolex is fairly cheap too I'm finding out but I've never installed it so we'll see if I do that or not.
Re: PPC212 Build
Perhaps you already got the info, but I was at the local music store today and remembered you wanted the measurements. The PPC112 frame is approximately 2 1/4", and the PPC2212 is around 2 3/4". I say approximately because I didn't exactly have a tape measure, but marked it on paper and measured when I got home. Don't think a 1/16th here or there will make a noticeable difference. 3/4" thick.

nextgen is selling WGS now too.Boy_Narf wrote: ↑Wed Jul 12, 2017 6:06 amI get all my WGS speakers from Tapesty Music. Decent prices, and one of the only places to get them in Canada. I believe I ordered everything else from nextgen. Picked up some grill material on a wicked sale too. Sure it might not be a classic color, but I got it for half price
Re: PPC212 Build
I got all the wood cut out today, hopefully I can dry fit it and pop some speakers in to see how it sounds. Its been really slow, the weather has been unbearably hot and even hotter in my garage LOL. I gotta order the grill cloth and corners still, maybe tomorrow if I have time. I'll get some pictures up too.
Re: PPC212 Build
Awesome. You might be wasting your time putting the speakers in when it's just dry fit together. It'll sound totally different when everything is screwed and glued. Of course, doesn't mean you shouldn't!
Re: PPC212 Build
Oh by the way, I'll probably start with a pair of greenbacks in this cab.
Re: PPC212 Build
Thanks for the heads up on NextGen. They seem to have the entire range where Tapestry only carries a few models. I planning a 115 guitar cab build as a fall project.

Coming together nicely. I wouldn't glue the cane cloth. It could end up looking awkward. It's not very stretchable and it is more rigid than other grill cloth styles, but as long as keep it tight when you're stapling it'll come out fine. If you need a little flexibility just mist some water on the edge.
Re: PPC212 Build
I read somewhere to soak it in hot water then staple it on, when it dries it will be tight as a drum! Don't know that I want to go to that extent though, I'll just go with what you said stretch it best I can and staple it.Jondog wrote: ↑Wed Jul 19, 2017 1:14 pmComing together nicely. Soaking it in water makes sense to me.pedecamp wrote: ↑Wed Jul 19, 2017 3:09 pmI read somewhere to soak it in hot water then staple it on, when it dries it will be tight as a drum! I've bought amps and cabs with stretched out cane weave, gently brushed a little water until it was wet through, and it tightened good as new as it dried.
It a very simple trick that works beautifully!!!!

Don't soak it! I'm afraid that it will really get misshapen...
I replaced my grill cloth and I simply stretched it as tight as I could by hand and also used canvas stretching pliers (which as an art teacher I had access to).
If you have any artist friends who stretch canvas, seek out their help. It's very similar.
