NAD Rocker 30 !!

Post by bfitz » Mon Jun 26, 2017 10:06 pm

It was delivered to my workplace today! Really really happy with it cos it sounds absolutely RAD. Its a lot more full sounding than the terror and a lot less refined than the Rockerverbs that I've had previously. I think I probably should have got one of these from the get go and saved myself a fair bit of cash but I suppose then I wouldn't have had such a rounded Orange experience. Anyway I got to plug it in here at home for a bit this evening and it sounds the bizniss so I shall be brining it to the jam space ASAP with reports after though I think most of you have heard and played these amps over the years. Sure whats one more?!

Congrats, man! I'd love to try out a R30... pretty happy with my TTHW, though. Still... there's an R30 combo for sale on my local CL... gassing hard!

Enjoy!

WONDERFUL!

Same story here. Started with an RV100, ended up with a R30 head and combo. Could't be happier :)

You should, especially if the price is good.
As bfitz said, it's a pretty raw beast that Rocker 30, it's fuzzed out overdrive will easily cover blues to stoner rock.

Pretty versatile, but quite aggressively voiced.
The natural channel isn't versatile, but it's ok.

Congrats!!!!

I can hear you on the not as refined as the RV50 - I have both, and the R30 edges it in the filthy filth department. Hands down!

But I still play my RV50 a lot - I love its a more polite, smoother voicing.
Very different beasts, calling them Rocker and Rockerverb is pretty misleading!!!

Congrats! I stumbled up on a "Too-good-to-turn-down" deal on a Rocker 30 a few months ago and absolutely fell in love with the amp. Then a few weeks ago I added a PPC412 cabinet, and that seemed to really open up the sound. It absolutely stomps my old JCM800!! And I kind of dig the clean sound too! Everybody bitches about it, but I don't WANT a Fender-clean, chimey sound. My Firebird sounds absolutely incredible clean, as do my Teles. But that dirt though....................................................... :D

Grats! :D
I love that little badass to death!
IMO, The clean channel needs some kind of preamp/boost in front of it, i've been using a RC Booster
with great results, it brings out some sparkle.

Happy Playing!

Better late than never... lol. I just noticed that I had Notifications... from the end of June!

I sold my TTHW, sigh... thinking about the Rocker 15 now... while I love EL-34's, a loud 30 watter is not practical for my only-at-home usage. If I win Lotto, though, I'd be collecting every model of Orange I could get my hands on!
