Important - please read

Post by bclaire » Sat May 20, 2017 1:42 pm

With the new forum software there seems to be the ability for spammers to post without being approved.

It is very important that you don't reply to their spam! When I go to ban them I could very well ban you as well since your name will be associated with the spam post.

Thanks for your help with this...

Yeah...

'Welcome to the forum!' Oh s**t now I'm banned...!

Do try to report suspicious new posters (have done so often!), but you can't always tell. This problem needs sorted then!

Soon after the switch, I tried to hit the report icon on a couple of spam post, and I'm not sure if it worked.

I tapped on the exclamation mark, but the only thing that happened was that it redirected me to the main forum menu web page??? (Community / technical / serial number page)

Billy, did you receive any of these notices?
In the past, I believe it gave us an option choice (spam / abuse type thing?), but when I clicked that exclamation mark in the new forum, nothing happened beside going straight back the the forum menu page.

I have just tried to report my own post Billy. After clicking in the exclamation mark, I'm simply redirected to the main menu.

You should have one notification pending from myself reporting myself. Please, don't ban me!!!!!
